  近十多年来,中国当代艺术的体系和市场日渐显示其重要力量,这一方面为当代艺术家提供了更为广阔的生存空间,另一方面也产生了一些僵化的模式化的制约性因素。正是在这样的艺术环境下,一些以自我意识倾向与个体选择为前提的自我组织与艺术群落开始活跃起来,它们力图建立一种有别于制度化艺术体系的创作和交流平台,并形成一种填补系统空白的艺术生命力量。
在广州,这个较少出现艺术生产中心利益追逐的焦灼心态,尚未被剧烈整合到星棋罗布的各种艺术阵营当中去的区域,近些年来民间空间和艺术聚集地变得越来越多、越来越活跃,层次和取向日趋多元化。在这里,我们试图从个案出发,勾勒出一条自我组织和群落发展的线索。而对“伍仙桥”艺术历程的追溯便是试图反映这种生态的一次介入行动。
  从2004年开始,曾经在伍仙桥艺术家工作室停驻和工作过的艺术家有“大尾象工作组”、“3号线编组”的部分成员。“3号线”是一个主要由高校美术教师组成的松散的艺术群落,他们自2002年开始便经常在一起聚会和做展览,虽然从事的都是绘画,但是表达的方式和取向各异,以各自的视角介入到当下社会和个体的生存体验之中,并以此有效的互动构成广州当代艺术圈层里某种独特的小气候。
其后,“3号线”的一些成员逐渐分散各处,但是他们的影响持续发酵,陆续聚集到“伍仙桥”的青年艺术家们便受到直接辐射。当然,这些青年艺术家只是后续发酵的其中一个部分,并且他们也有自己全然不同的视角和表达方法。如此,沿着教育、师承、空间据点等综合因素窜连起一条既有内在关联性又具有极大开放性的独立艺术组织实践之路。我们的展览便力图反映这样一条线索,以呈现那种有别于显性的院校、媒材、风格区隔的,潜藏的、深刻的艺术行动力量。

 In the last ten years, Chinese contemporary art system and market increasingly show their important strength, this provides a wider space for contemporary artists, on the other hand, it’s also produced some rigid and restrictive factors. It is in this environment of art, on the premise of self-awareness tendency and individual choice, some self-organizations and art colonies become more active, they try to establish a kind of creation and communication platform which are different from the institutional art system, and form a life force of art that can fill the void of system.

 The city of Guangzhou is still not being put into the art camps forcibly, and the eager of chasing interests in art production center is rarely. In recent years, private art spaces and art hubs become more and more active, the level and orientation are diversified gradually. In this exhibition, we are trying to find a clue of self-organize and joint development by trace the art history of Wu Xian Qiao.

From 2004, some members of “Da Wei Xiang Workgroup” and “Line 3 Group” have stayed and worked in Wu Xian Qiao Artists Studios. “Line 3 Group” is an incompact art colony, mainly organized by art teachers from colleges, and they began to hold exhibition together from 2002, apparently they are all painters, but they use different ways to express, and have individual visual angles intervene in the present life and the survival experience, this kind of effective interaction has constituted a small unique atmosphere in the circle of Guangzhou contemporary art.

 Then, some members of “Line 3 Group” went to other places, but the influence ferment continuously, especially to the young artists in Wu Xian Qiao. Of course, the young artists only a part of the subsequent fermentation, but they also have their own expression styles. With factors like education, inheritance, spatial positions, they find a wide opened and independent art organization practice way. This exhibition is trying to reflect this clue clearly, so that we can find the underlying force of art.
